Default what kind of pedal for a foot mounted cowbell?

I just recently bought a foot pedal attachment and a cowbell but i find that my old pdp pedal with a dw beater doesnt do very well. it kinda sounds weird and is too heavy for when i switch to it from my SUPER LIGHT axis double bass pedals. i want something lighter and was thinking of getting a dw9000 single for it. i now kinda think thats too much money just for a cowbell. any suggestions to what kind of pedal to get?

I think any decent pedal would do. It's not something where you have to worry too much about the performance, so go with what you can afford.

You definitely don't need a 9000 for a cowbell, you might want to try this: http://accessories.musiciansfriend.c...dal?sku=490718

Since it's Direct Drive, you won't lose any of that "Axis feel". All of your pedals will be direct driven! And what's better, That pedal is pretty light, more so than Iron Cobras or DW pedals.

I'm using a Gibralter Avenger with a LP cowbell holder. It is very solid and works well for clave type rhythms. You will not likely play Bonham triplets so you don't need a super fast pedal.

If you really want to be hardcore about it and have the $$. . . DW makes a hi hat stand with a built-in cowbell pedal attachment (It's the 9002 I believe). Of course, that might not be beneficial to you unless you play in a salsa band 5 nights a week!
