Hi Vagelis,
The Sonor 505 is a perfectly decent kit and should sound fine (although the snare isn't quite so easy to get sounding good). It realy amounts to heads and tuning. Lots of info if you click search and type in tuning and the same goes for heads. Tuning bible is good. When you say it doesn't sound good what are you comparing it to? It'll always sound different to CD's. Also how long have you been playing? Might be that your technique could be still improving and not giving you the right sound. Is the buzzing coming from your snare? Could be the snare adjustment or the snare wires. Best wishes

I believe maybe tuning it better if possible can help.
Purchasing the Drum Tuning System by Mike Michalkow would be a smart move if that's the case. I have bought this product and made my drums sound in tune for the first time ever lol It teaches you how to maintain your drums, how to tune them so that they'll sound great together, how to change the drum heads, how to muffle your drums, tuning for rock, tuning for latin, and tuning for jazz. However, I, and even Mike Michalkow himself, believe it is virtually impossible to completely eliminate ALL extra buzzing that comes from the snare drum even when you hit the TOMS. However, it is possible to reduce it. The first step is tuning your snare drum properly. The next, is muffling. Also, Tuning your drums is a very personal thing. Every drummer has their own sound. If you are interested in this product, google it, or visit railroadmedia.com and take a look at it. |
