I have an amber one and love it. It is my second kit, but the first one I have worked and payed for. I love it to say the least. You can get through the waiting process. Just don't get addicted to checking the tracking number. I did and it only made it worse.

I have the same kit, Is the best sounding kit I've ever owned. We reocrded with it last year and the engineer spent 5 minutes getting it tweaked on the sound board as opposed to 45 minutes with the studio set. They sing quite nicely.

I don't own one, but I recommended a Catalina for a fellow who was new to the drums. I helped him assemble and tune his new drums, and even with the stock heads I was pleasantly surprised how good they sound and easy they were to tune. I had them tuned up in no time. I spent just about as much time tuning whole kit versus my 10" tom on my DW's. I haven't heard one of these kits with aftermarket heads, but I'm sure they sound better than with the stock heads.

You made a wise purchase. I would own one of these in a heartbeat if I ever needed another kit.

Thanks, that it tunes up quickly solves most of the problems I had with my old kit not being able to tune almost at all! Thanks for the helpful words.

Thanks Yamahammer! I will definitely post pics when they come in and I get them all set up. The cherry red should look pretty cool. I also cant wait until they come out with that 8" tom more publicly with it on the website if you know what I mean. Thanks again!

That new black color is really sweet too. I saw it on the renowns first but it looked better on the catalina due to the black hardware.

GC in west palm beach has a set right now. They aren't set up just piled in the corner but sweet looking. I didn't ask but maybe they are one of those GC "exclusive colors". I really hope not.

Yeah let's hope not. I mean just because they have the biggest guitar store in the world in SF i think, what's so good about them that they should have their own colours on EVERYTHING?

Not much is good about them in my opinion. I have got badly ripped off by them in the past
By the way everybody I just received word that now my set is on backorder until May 10th!

That ebony finish looks really cool especially on the Cat Maples. When I was shopping for mine the only reason I did not get the ebony finish was because it was $100 more.

Good I'm glad that it is good looking. Without being able to see it in person I was torn between the amber and cherry. I decided on the cherry and it is good to know I made a good choice.

Yeah, It's just cool looking. Although I find I had less control over my ride when I did it, temded to move more, Maybe my lugs weren't tight enuff.

Well, in part I suppose, although I saw it as a way to hover my ride lower and flatter more than "Stylin' and Profilin'".

Check out Mike Mangini's set up. I think all of his boom arms are inverted.
