Default Practice Pad

I'm going over seas this summer, and I'd like to take (bring) a practice pad. Except the thing is, I need to buy one first.
I want something that I can work on not only for rudiments/snare solos, but also for brushes as well.

I was thinking http://www.guitarcenter.com/Remo-Pra...88-i1137027.gc about that one, because my teacher has it, and it looks like a good and realistic practice pad (and cheap as well), however I'm worried about the 10inch head being too small for brushes.
Obviously I should try them out, but the stores around here don't have an abundance of practice pads to just try out :P. So does anybody have this practice pad? How's it like playing brushes?
Is there another one that's good enough for brushes?
I don't know how the material on top works for brushes actually, is it really sticky so they can't slide?
Help please.
Much appreciated.
