I posted recently that I am in the market for some cymbals. I'm in the process of going from edrums to acoustic. I've been looking at Paiste (alphas mostly or another higher series used)mainly but also some other brands. I was looking on ebay and found Saluda Nemesis set and am very curious about these. After doing a search here I found MANY great comments about Saluda in general; however not much about the Nemesis series. I know they are somewhat new, how new I'm not sure. The only acoustic cymbals I've ever owned were Zild. A's(from the 70's), but I'm very open to something else. I had those for over 20 years with no real complaints. I think those Nemesis cymbals would look awesome with my Gretch tattoo set that is on the way. Has anyone played this series or have pics of what they look like with an actual drum kit? The auction states, as does the Saluda website, that the Nemesis series cymbals are versitile for many styles, does anyone have experience with them in a specific, or various styles? I'm really intrigued by these and want to know any info., good or bad about them. It sucks that the website has no sound samples to hear. I have a couple days before the auction ends. I would like to get the whole set, but am still a little leary about it without hearing them or anything. I realize that the "sound samples" on others websites are not like actually playing them anyway, but it can give you a little info. Thanks for any replies. Melinda p.s. I hope to post pics of my new Gretch's soon! |

V-
Please post the link from the auction. The thing about the Nemesis is ....they're made to order for whatever that specific person needs. So your sound on these will vary. For the money, ...NOTHING sounds like Saluda. I've compared my full set up of Saluda's to Zildjian, Paiste, Sabian...and they don't compare, to MY ears.. .... ON EDIT: I just found the auction, ..it sounds like this is a versatile set they made for someone who backed out? I dont' know. ASK THE SELLER a question via eBay, they'll answer you. |

Jeff,
Thanks for the info. It sounds like from the auction that they can be used for various styles, I was mainly wondering if anyone had any Nemesis in particular or if they would sound similar to the diamonds, or others i've heard samples of. I really want to get these the more I think about it, but also wanted to see if I get any negatives about them either. Thanks again, Melinda |

Well, I just bought the cymbals today. My Gretch kit showed up and I tried to picture it with those cymbals and I think it will look great. I didn't find anything negative on Saluda's at all, SO, I think it'll be great to try something new and different.
NOW, I just have to wait patiently, ?? Got the Gretch's put together today but not tuned up yet..I'll post pics after Saluda's get here.. |

I haven't gotten into the Nemesis series yet, but I LOVE the Saluda MistX series. Let me know how Nemesis works out for you...that might be my next purchases.
