Default least resource intensive virtual percusion program?

Hey guys, i'm seriously thinking of jumping back into electronic drums, but i don't want to get a traditional console based kit. I want to run off of a notebook, like a dell inspiron mini or an acer aspire one interfaced to an alesis trigger i/o. The problem i'm finding in my research is that the programs i'm interested in, like fxpansion's bfd2 are incredibly resource hungry. The manufacturer's minimum requirements are like 1 gig ram, 60 gig HD space, 7200 rpm HD but everywhere i look, guys are saying it craps out unless you have more than 2.5 gig ram. Are there any other virtual percussion programs you guys are running that use fewer resources? The Netbook i'm looking at has 1.6 gig ram, 160 gig HD.

The other programs i'm looking at are toontrack's drums from hell, XLN audio addictive drums, digidesign strike rtas. Any insight will be helpful.
