Default Look what I've built now

Here is a snare that built. The shell is from Stanbridge Drums, but the lugs I designed and made by myself. Cocobolo shell with Cocobolo lugs.

I love it,these lugs are just great. I wish i have the talent to do something like this. actualy i'm more good to fix my old snowblower than working wood and precision work like this lollll. You have all my respect, good work.

....

That is absoluetly stunning. Seriously, imagine a whole kit like that....absolutely orgasm inducing. What's the story on those lugs? What goes into making something that pretty?

Kudos man, that's one of the hottest snares I've ever seen!

Why is the snare stand upside down? I'd swear that thing is sitting on the feet, rather than the cradle...

I think it's so that no part of this glorious creation is obscured; we can see the entire bottom hoop since the drum is resting on the feet.

Beautiful snare... exactly the color I would go for in a custom drum. How does it sound?

To answer all the questions,

the snare stand is upside down, so you can see the whole bottom, and I did it in case I crop the picture, then you do not see the claws of the snare stand. No this is not my first drum, I built my whole drumset (but not like this snare) and I aslo built snares as a side business.
To be able to make those lugs, you have to have some serious machinery, I also have a background in fine mechanics, so working on a lathe machine for me is a daily thing, and that is where I made those lugs.

That is heart-stopping! I agree with NJ. I'd be tempted to put that on an ionic marble display pillar under a spot light, with a theater cordon to protect it.

The hardware is brass plated, not gold plated.I am planning to do some more snares, but I did not come up with a price yet.

Im in Seminole, only a few miles away. Mine needs to be 14 x 7, of the same wood. I'll buy the heads and assemble the drum if that will save me some cash. LOL. Very nice piece I will agree.
