The Gretsch square-ish mount is nice, & comes with a memory lock that fits snug and will keep the drum in the exact spot you set every time.
It's not very expensive. I use this mount on my RIMS bracket (basically the same as the GTS), and on my bass drum for my ride cymbal because of the flat memory lock which sits flush with the bracket. It will not move unless you move it. Looks like this if the pic is big enough to see: ![]() It came wit a fat Gretsch wing nut, but I replaced that with a smaller Gibraltar 8 mm wingnut. DW's TB-12 is a good one, but is expensive (lists at $59.99). Gibraltars tom mount is sturdy, nice, & used by a few custom makers. Not that expensive either. Ludwig's Elite tom bracket is well made, sturdy fits smaller L-arms and has a memory lock too.
