Default I need help practicing

Hello I am trying to get my double stroke roll to 200bpm and I would like to know how to practice.
My doubles are currently at 165bpm. How do I get them faster?? If I go faster I struggle to hold it down for 2/3mins. Do I simply have to repeat 165bpm over and over again? If so how many times?? How do I know when to knock it up another 5bpm?? I heard that inorder to play a roll comfortably at e.g 180bpm I need to breaching 190bpm concistantly ?? Is this true?would somone tell me how to practice ?

Any help would be rad cheers

Do you mean 16th notes at 200? 32nds?

Two or three minutes is a long time to hold a roll. If you keep bumping your tempo up slowly and building endurance at each tempo, you'll see results. There is no set time frame as everyone's ability is different. But if you can play 165 comfortably for a week, then try 168 for a week and see what happens. If that's comfortable, bump it up again. Don't be in a rush. And make sure to start each practice session at a lower tempo and warm up/work your way up to your top speed. Keep a diary and don't be discouraged by minor fluctuations in your top speed from day-to-day. Some days are better than others. Think in terms of months of progress, not hours or days.
