Gatzen himself plays with his kick angled just like the OP, and probably 99.99999% of people currently playing drums. This is a common sense deal here....1-2" doesn't harm anything at all .
What fanagel posted is just ridiculous to even say. Are you 2 one in the same?

But hey lay your kick flat and have the shell resting against the hard arse floor....I'm sure it will sound better than having it up off the floor...
I wasn't saying that I lay my kick on the ground, because I don't. In fact, I think it is better to have it 1 or 2 inches off of the ground. I was just trying to show you that hoop distortion is a real thing.

Apparently "playsforfun" makes a habit of this, but never hesitates about making sure everyone knows what "adults" do...

Thanks, thread-killer.

That is one stunning kit you've made. Best I've seen, everything works perfectly, (but looks like bleach) haha ;p

Kidding, really good job. Nice!

And to Drummerern...fabulous, gorgeous kit, It was not my intention to detract from the work and time that you have obviously put into the project.

My shell isn't laying on the floor at all. If you had any commonsense at all you would realize that your kickclamp will keep it off of the floor about a 1/4" at the batter and you can set the resonant side up about a 1/4" and the shell won't sit on the floor AT ALL!

nah, ordered the turquoise glass glitter from jamminsam.com, great customer service! i'm sure it's the same stuff...and to answer your question, the bass is exactly the same height off the ground on both side, but the pedal is not tight on hoop, so even if the front was higher, it would make no difference...hope that helps :)
