Al Murry was MC at the Zildjian/Ginger Baker awards in London a few months back. Murry played a couple of minutes alone, on Alan white's kit..
He's having lessons & is a good beginner player.I think he has lessons with Alan White.

I'm also told, by a friend (a drummer) who was there at the awards concert in London that Mr. Baker done himself no favours at all trying , unsuccessfully, to play jazz.

Yea. I know Ginger's in his seventies & has arthritis, but apparently many there were shocked how bad Gingers jazz playing was.

I personally have enjoyed his playing with Clapton/Bruce but he never struck me as a particularly versatile drummer.
When my friend told me Ginger was going to play jazz I was very surprised.
