Default your ultimate cymbal set up

Whats your ultimate cymbal set up? I didn a search and didn't find any threads dealing with this so I figured I'd start one.

Mine would be this if I was using Zildjian:

I'd make other but I don't have the time right now.

No one ultimate setup but many "ultimate" combinations depending what is needed for different musical situations within my family of Istanbul Agop cymbals.

Here's a good "ultimate" combo within my Agop family I haven't posted a pic of in a while. 22" Turk Jazz Ride, 21" SE Jazz Ride, 18" Mel Lewis 1982 Crash Ride and 14" green label Agop Signature hats:

Well I can't get my diagram from the Sabian Set-Up builder on here, but I'll just tell you.

HHX 14" Groove Hats
AAX 13" X-Celerator Hats (X-Hats)
AA 16" Medium Crash
AAX 18" Dark Crash
HHX 18" Evolution O-Zone Crash
AA 19" Rock Crash
HH 21" Raw-Bell Dry Ride
HH 22" Jose Pasillas Raw-Bell Dry Crash/Ride Prototype
AAX 8" Splash
Vault 9" Max Splash
AAX 10" Splash
AAX 15" Xtreme Chinese
AAX 19" Xtreme Chinese
HHX 20" Chinese
Vault 9" Radia Cup Chime

Well, 15 cymbals is a big much, but that is the exact set-up I am building now. I have 7 of the cymbals! I'm on my way!

My belief is you can never have too many cymbals on your kit so the ultimate one is the one I can't afford!!!!

I play at least 10 overhead crashes plus effects and rhythm!!!

I happen to be in a band where we are all gear junkies. Hell I have a near identical "practice kit" set up in our studio to my road kit. The only difference is the practice kit uses all Zildjian Platinum cymbals!!!

Cymbal Whore.....

I agree - one can never have too many shiny things

Current setup is (all Paiste):

14" Twenty Hi-Hats
16" Signature Reflector Heavy Full Crash
18" Signature Reflector Heavy Full Crash
17" RUDE Crash / Ride
17" 2002 Wild Crash
22" Signature Reflector Bell Ride
20" Twenty Light Ride
8" Signature Reflector Splash
10" Signature Reflector Splash
10" PST5 Splash
20" 2002 Novo China

I have plans to add a 17" and 20" Signature Reflector HFC at some point, but using the dining room as practise area means I'm a bit limited for space!!! I would also like to add another ride cymbal. They don't all need to be in use at once eh!!!

Do you actually have that?
I've bought this cymbal used, a while ago and I've been trying to find out more about it but can't seem to finch much information on it on the internet. I've head a lot from the sound control series, but never the "hi bell ride". It seems to be kind a unique piece to me since it's also signed on the bottom. Ok maybe you'll tell me that every HHX cymbal is also, but I've never seen something like that HH sound control hi bell ride before...
Maybe vintage?

This may sound wishy washy but...

Suppose I have a whole massive set of Paiste 2002's. That is a dream set up.

But wait...

What about a whole setup of sabian vaults?

But wait...

What about Meinl byzance or mb20's?

But wait....

You see the pattern. That is because there are more "dream" cymbals than I can possibly afford. The good part is, I can at least have one of them. And the other good part is, there are so many alternatives that I can apply the phrase "dream" setup to any of the big four, or the genuine Turkish companies like Istanbul and bosphorus.

My current set up:
All Zildjian

14" K Mastersound hats
21" A Sweet Ride (which is signed by Lifehouse drummer Rick Woolstenhulme!)
17" K custom Hybrid crash
19" K custom Hybrid crash
18" K Constantinople crash
6" Zil-Bel
9" K custom Hybrid splash
11" K custom Hybrid splash
17" K custom Hybrid China

I would someday like to add:
13" K custom Hybrid Trash splash
20" K custom Dry light ride with rivets

Other than that I am 100% satisfied with that list!

fun game.

if i played zildjian (sabian)

14" K hats (HHX)
10", 12" K splashes (HHX)
22" K light ride (main) (HH Vintage)
20" K Constantinople medium thin ride (left) (HHX Legacy)
15" K Constantinople crash over A custom crash (as X hat) (HHX studio over AAX stage)
16, 17, 18" k custom crashes. (HHX evo)

what i play: i use this for pretty much everything, though change trad to gold, and hhx to aax studio if i really need bright sounds.

14 bosphorus trad hats
20 bosphorus thin trad ride (left side if using both rides)
22 bosphorus new orleans ride
17,18 HHX evolutions

what i will probably add:
HHX splashes 10, 12
HHX mini china (i'm playing reggae now)
some type of medium weight ride when i need more solid ping, without going to heavy weights.

Seriously, how fun would that be? To have a Guitar Center-esque room where there's hundreds of cymbals, drums, heads, sticks, pedals, etc. It would be a dream.

This is my current cymbal setup, L to R. I'm very happy with how everything's turned out so I don't feel the need to be adding/changing anything for the time being. What are your thoughts?

All by Paiste Signature:

14" Signature Reflector Heavy Full Hi-Hat
22" Signature Reflector Heavy Full Crash
24" 2002 Crash
22" Signature Reflector Power Ride
20" Signature Power Crash
14" Signature Fast Crash

Cheers.
