Its Dominion Ash Pocket. Unfortunately I havent had a chance to play it past tapping the heads a bit. Judging on that they sound really good. I'll update when I have given them a better go.

How do you like those gen-x cymbals? I was thinking about getting some, but I was questionable because of the alloy they're made out of. I loved my old meinl byzance crash, so I have faith in them, but I've never played any of the gen-x line. Any soundfiles by chance? I really dig your kit, I used to have a Ddrum Dominion snare and I LOVED it. Meinls + Ddrum = amazing!

Thanks for the compliments.

I have since joined a band. They love the gen-x cymbals. I do too, particularly the 16" crash. I'd definately be interested in hi hats of the same alloy if they were available.

The drums really sounded good straight away but I'm gonna need to change the heads on the toms to something thicker and the bass is too boomey. I think it sounds beautiful but its not workin for the punk rock thing we're doing.

I bought a clear evans eq3 for the bass today and a power centre reverse dot for the snare. If I remember I'll mention how that changed things after our next practice.

We are recording our practices so we should have something on myspace soon. I'll update when that happens.

If the new basshead doesn't fully do the trick (it should be better than the stock head at least), but something in the bass. Punk bass drums aren't exactly known for their boomy qualities...Some muffling should do the trick.

Maybe if you move the bass drum away from the wall the sound will travel away and not resonate between the wall and itself.

Maybe I'm misreading you, but the drum wasn't near a wall.

Hey people,
I have joined a band, if you want to listen to us on our second time ever playing together go see www.myspace.com/wearethecheated.
Mistakes aplenty but good stuff I think.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers,

Sean

Nice cymbals. I use the 18" as my main ride, and wow is it versatile! I'm always surprised that more people aren't using them, they're cheap and sound great for anything from jazz to rock.

Nice kit man! That hardtail blue burst is my third favorite dominion color after anaheim orange and java sparkle! Ddrum is really making a name for themselves, the best is yet to come...
