"Carnival of Light" -- a 14-minute experimental track recorded at the height of the Beatles' musical experimentations with psychedelia and inspired by avant-garde composers such as Karlheinz Stockhausen -- has long been considered too adventurous for mainstream audiences. ------------------ I hope it's more appealing than "free as a bird." |

Looking forward to hearing that...
Speaking of experimental, McCartney has a couple of albums out as "The Fireman", collaborating with a producer called Youth that are pretty experimental, ambient and interesting. Anyone heard that stuff? Third one comes out next week. Looking forward to that too.

I am looking forward to it. I have pretty much everything they have released, except "naked" which didn't really thrill me. I prefer the wall of sound version.
I think it's time somebody dug every inch of tape they have out of the vaults and released a compilation of unreleased stuff. What may have been too risky back then, would likely be accepted now, at least in AOR format. Imagine (no pun intended) if the beatles were credited with inventing progressive rock... |

I thought it was a commonly known fact the The Beatles invented progressive rock.
