Default John Fred Young

I know I've seen his name on here in the past. With a new album out, and he totally kicks it on their first... What do you all think of his style?

Wel i really like him and the band in general. Both albums are great. He plays a very bonham-esque kit too.

I'm a fan too. I really liked his over the top playing on their first c.d. and even though he is playing a little more reserved on Black Stone Cherry's 2nd release, his playing is still top notch, and I love the green luddy's. I wonder if the vintage snare in the cd pics came from Uncle Fred, Of the Kentucky Headhunters..lol.

But yes I really enjoy his playing and their music in general.

I like every song too, second album is quite diverse with the feel from song to song, "Soulcreek" and "Devil's Queen" I usually keep on repeat through at least 3 plays each..lol. "Lonley Train" and "Rain Wizard" from the first....or "When the weight comes down".......or about all the rest..LOL.

I had heard too from someone else that were very down to Earth guys.

Absolutely incredible player.

His groove is SO deep.

His playing on the first album is insane!

His triplet fill on Backwoods Gold is just amazing! Definitely grooves!

Does he play single bass or double?

He plays a Ludwig set up similar to Bonham, so yes, one bass drum.
