Anyone ever heard of Aluminum die cast hoops? I have a chance to get a Yamaha die cast hoop but the guy said it's made from aluminum. Anyone have any thoughts on these hoops good bad etc.
Thanks

Ditto on Drummaker.com. Good source for generic 2.3 hoops, too.

Bear in mind that diecast hoops have a profound effect on the sound of your drums. Some people like that sound, but many do not.

It's an expensive experiment to make.
