Default Snare Stand used for Toms?

I'm currently putting together a Pearl Masters series kit. The toms use the Pearl I.S.S. mounting system. I have heard the pros/cons of this mounting system. I'm thinking about mounting all three toms ( 12" single on the top, and the two bottom toms 13" and 14" on snare stands. Just wanted to know if anyone else has tried this? Or, I may use one snare stand for the top tom and a single tom stand with two tom arms for the bottom two toms. What do you drummers think is the best bang for the buck?

Since you're only running 12, 13, 14, the snare stands might go low enough... Just remember that stands are always assuming a 5.5 or 6 inch snare (I run into plenty of problems on my 7 inch snare and have to set the stand at its lowest setting).

If you've already got a lot of the mounting hardware, it might be cheaper to move to RIMS-type mounts instead of the ISS mounts.

The early ISS clamped directly on the rim of the drum. Then Pearl went to their own version of a RIMS, which later evolved to the opti-mount. Most bang for your buck, get 12, 13, 14 RIMS and attach your Pearl mounts to the RIMS plate. Your Pearl mounts are 4 hole (I think) similar pattern to Yamaha, and the RIMS plate has all the holes and slots anyone could ever want. From there, you can use aux. clamps to fly the Pearl tom arms off cymbal stands, get a dedicated twin tom mount, etc.
