New here, so forgive me for dumping a bunch of photos at once. Unfortunately I'm not the most photogenic drummer, but I'm working on that! I'm hosting these pictures from Facebook, so hopefully they're visible for everyone. Pictures are from various shows over the past few months...

And the whole band!

But this one might just be my favorite...

Haha yes. This was 8th grade promotion, we played Gravity by John Mayer, Lenny by Stevie Ray Vaughn (spelling?) and Red house by Hendrix. We played for the parents who surrounded where the kids were going to sit when they came. The gig didn't really seem appropriate for some bashing on the drums :/ The party later was though :]

Which Abe, Abe? :) I promise it's not a homage to Lincoln.

It was a blast. We'll be out a lot more, going forward.

Very cool set up Zam. Looks a lot of fun....was this the gig you were a bit unsure about? Look right at home to me.

Yep, it worked out really well. I had 4 "rehearsals" (if you can call them that) with them, prior to the show. The show was fairly tight, even though the sound guy did a *terrible* job. My mics were out almost the entire time...no vocals in the monitors, vocal mics cranked and instruments almost silent, etc.

Anyhow, it was great and we'll be out regularly, from now on.

here's a few shots of me from a few weeks ago. Was playing a smaller venue so scaled down the kit a bit. Playing 10" 14" 16" rack is interesting, made me rethink my fills.

Here's a couple from last night's gig in Boston... was an AWESOME venue. If any band runs through New England, let me know, this is a great 220 capacity room with great sound.

There may be more photos/video, I'll post more if i get more!

Here's a couple of pics from the recent Classical Joint Reunion show in Vancouver I performed at.

This group seen in the 2 pics was originally a quartet called Chief Feature with the addition of Bill Clark on trumpet when first put together back in 1987. The group is currently a trio called the West Coast Art Trio featuring original Chief Feature members Bruce Freedman and Clyde Reed and myself which was asked to perform at this very fun musical event. The show was held at the Ironworks Studio space a few blocks from the original location of the Joint. That's the house kit for the show with a few of my own pies for our set.

Great hang that night with lots of cool music from old friends I haven't seen in years and all the memories of those no longer with us who played at this long closed jazz space in Gastown that many of us got our start as pro jazz players in our community.

Unfortunately, all of these pictures are not recent.

Opening up for Brave Combo at the annual "Tree Lighting" in our town. I was playing with our high school's jazz band. December 2009

Playing a great chart with the band called "Pulse" by Dan Cavanaugh at the Arts and Jazz Festival April 2010. The chart is a straight up vibraphone feature that is, for lack of better words, super destructive.

Finally, my absolute favorite picture of my playing, EVER. This is from our tri-state tour in May 2010. The chart being played was Don Ellis' "(In a) Turkish Bath"

Actually, those are vibraphone mallets made for front ensembles. I used them so I could really stand out in the band. I definitely see why you would think they are timp mallets though! They are made by Encore Mallets and are the hemp-wound extra hards. The yarn wrapping is very thin!
