Default Phophor Bronze Alloy Snare Wires

Does anybody knows the difference between a phosphor bronze alloy snare wires and regular steel snare wires?
Sound wise? Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. I'm planning to replace the stock snare wires on my mapex pro maple 14x5.5 snare drum.
Thanks guys!

They tend to be warmer/darker than steel snares, and much darker/warmer than chrome plated snares.
