That's cool! Are you going 8" for the snare and 6" for the hats? That would be awsome. And chopsticks to play the kit :-).

Wow. Cool little project. Did you shorten the beater shaft? I can't really imagine a practical use for this that just messing around but it looks pretty fun.

do they make a 4" tom?

what are you using to lift the drum off the pedal? it looks like your using the 7/8" mount.

Havent adjusted the pedal yet. Its gonna be part of a miniature kit at uni. The best thing is it cost me 0 and its 100% reversible. The head could use a bit of dampening but it sounds pretty good.

yeah the mount arm brings the drum to the right height at the front and the ikea legs keep it up at the back. I should get a 4" rack tom and a 6" floor tom 5" snare then hire a monkey and id be set for life.

How does it sound??

I tried to use a 12" tom as secondary bass, but it sounds very high, and I can't tune it lower.

Looks like a lot of fun. You should bring that kit to a metal gig. Along with some pink hello kitty guitars for the guitarists.

Any soundfiles?

If it sounds OK, it is perfect for small gigs. You can just put the whole kit in your backpack and leave. Why have twice the size bassdrum?

I did the same thing with a old premier 13" tom about 10 years ago. Kind of a 'cocktail' project. I added two budget floor tom brackets and a Pearl tom conversion pack. Worked really well for rehearsals and 'little' jams and a lot easier on my back!
