Default Mapex Heads?

hey ya'll, I'm going to be buying a new Mapex Pro M sometime soon and was wondering what kind of heads come stock on Pro Ms. The reason behind this is that I prefer Evans over most other brands (Except the Super Kick 2, I love those things!) and I'm already purchasing Coated EC2s for the toms and Coated EC2 Reverse Power Dots for the two snares.
I was wondering if the snare sides are Evans or not. If so, does anybody know which?
I prefer Hazy 400s.

Also, I was wondering if the EC2 Resos that were shown at NAMM '08 are out retail yet, because I haven't found them.

Thanks for any info,

chris

Never mind about the EC Resos, I just found them on MusiciansFriend. Guess I just wasn't looking hard enough last time.

Actually Remo UT isn't bad. They use the same mylar as their conventional head but instead of having epoxy glue in the hoop, the mylar is crimped into the hoop. These head are made in Taiwan or China (cant remember). What is the best thing to do is if you aren't gigging then you could keep those heads till you have enough money to replace them all and till then, you could experiment with other heads to find the sound you're looking for.

I've already decided to go with EC2 for pretty much everything (coated where possible).
I'd made some pretty rash buying decisions in the past (paid $800 for a 6 year old Rockstar 4pc. Yeah, I got taken), so I have been doing my research on the heads.
The only place that I'm a little shaky is on the Resos for my toms.
I'm confident the the EC2s will be what I'm looking for, but I've never actually heard the combo for myself.
I was also wondering how it might sound to just use Coated EC1s as my resos.
Any ideas?
I'm open for pretty much anything that's Evans (I like conformity with brands) for my resos.

thanks,

Chris

I had great luck getting very warm sounds with an Evans G2 coated batter and G1 coated resos. With the EC2 coated you may like the G1 in either clear or coated. I'm not sure how you will like the look of the white G1 coating and the hazy look of the EC2's coating.

I'm really not all that worried about looks.
I keep my toms really low and relatively even with my snare (think Travis Barker, but with less rise), so the reso heads would have minimum show anyhow.
I just thought about something too.
I used to play (before my dad sold my kit when I moved out) Hydraulic heads and I absolutely loved those then. I just can't get enough of that fat sound they make. Think using Hydraulic resos would help me capture some of that "fatness" or would it just kill my sound?
All kind of questions!
I'll probably just go with g1 coated though and experiment later.

Thanks for the input,

Chris
