Default Drum heads

What kind of drum heads do you use? I want to use heads that sound really good for studio recording.

I use the stock single plies that are on my set already right now....except on my floor tom there i have an aquarian performance 2 which isnt terrible on a floor tom...for recording though my suggestion would be a g2 over g1 combination...the g2 can be either coated or not its your choice...if ur a remo guy go with pinstripe....ive played kits with all of these heads and liked them...but ive only played one aquarian head and thats the one on my floor tom....i do not suggest muffled tom heads like the ec2's or performance 2's....ive actually recorded with my single plies and got a really really big sound after a touch of eq'ing....btw this prob should be in the gear thread under heads and sticks....oh and for snare u cant beat a remo ambassador coated over a non coated ambassador...

This is in the wrong section. Go to the "Drum Gear" Section then go to "heads and sticks" (i think thats what its under).

At the moment im using hydraulics, and they are really good for studio recording but im not a huge fan of the sound just because its sort of dead sounding.

On all but my bass drum and my snare resonant, I have two Evans G1s. They sound super awesome; it's a really old jazz sound. They're really responsive, too.
