Toms tuning like SiPhi

Anyone have an idea how Simon Phillips tunes his toms? they sound to be pretty high tuned. but how about the reso?

when hearing the performance on the videos on SiPhis site (here at drummerworld), I asked mysel, how is he making them sound like that. very punchy, bright and yet not with a long sustain...

any ideas?

In reading articles about him and his tuning techniques in the past, he tunes his resonant heads higher in pitch than the top to control the amount of sustain. A minor third relationship seems to work well.
