These are my Pearl SMX Session Customs, bought in 2002. The shells are 6 ply maple in Vintage Fade.

Sizes are 22", 12", 13", 16" with 14 x 5.5" Snare.

Heads are as follows:
Toms: Batter - Aquarian Coated Response II, Reso - Aquarian Classic Clear
Snare: Batter - Aquarian Texture Coated, Reso - Aquarian Classic Clear SS
Kick: Batter - Aquarian SK I, Reso - Aquarian Regulator with 4 3/4" Port Hole

Cymbals:
Hats: Sabian AAX 14" Stage Hats
Crashes: Sabian AAX 16" Stage Crash & 17" Xplosion Crash
Ride: Sabian AAX 20" Stage Ride

Apologies for the photo quality, they are done with my phone except the last one which was taken with a propoer camera at a gig last weekend.

Let me know what you think.

Wow, very sexxy, loving the action shot :)

I hear those Xplosion crashes are pretty thin right?

I'm usually not a fan of fades, but your kit is definitely an exception

The fade coupled with the finish on the cymbals has a really nice look, I have to say. Sweet kit. Looks like you treat her well. What type of music does your band play?

Thanks guys, here is another of me with devil eyes!

and fijjibo - yeah the xplosion crashes are quite thin but I'm not a particularly hard hitter so I have no worries about breaking it.

Awesome - Im tempted by them, but my old teacher broke 9 of them, and says they arent durable - but then he did smack the kit wayyy hard...

Thanks for all the comments, I'm really happy with my sessions now and I reckon they will do me for many years.

youenjoy00myself - my band plays rock covers, a good variety from the 1960's right through to present day stuff.

drumming_hd - I really like the coated heads, they look and sound great, I used to use clear heads but much prefer the warmth the coated ones have.

mind_drummer - I think you were one of the people who convinced me to give Aquarian heads a try a while back when I was changing so I thank you for pushing me towards them. I started with the SK1 on the kick and loved it so much that I had to get Aquarians all round. They are fantastic, easy to tune, and sound brilliant and the coating seems extremely durable, I would recommend them to anyone.

Decided to take a few more pictures before knocking my kit down for a gig tonight. The colour is not as 'in your face' as it looks on the pics in reality.

Hey, uh, can I have your kit?

Just kidding. That's an amazing finish. I love fades.

Real quick, what's a good used price for a set of Session Customs? I found an ad on Craigslist for a fusion set... looks like it might even be the same finish (always hard to tell in photos). The guy wants $800. It's about 2 hours away from me, so I'd have to throw in about 50 bucks in gas as well.

Not quite sure how I feel about fusion kits. I used to really dig them, but sometimes a suspended tom on a stand (especially two of them set up low) can throw off the center of gravity and topple. Nowadays, I've been back to being a big fan of floor toms.

I just don't know what they're supposed to go for.

Ah yes, we have the same drums. 'Cept for I have the fusion sizes... although I've added on so much that the only difference is that I have a 20" bass drum.

Anyway, very nice, and thoughtful on the 1 up 2 down setup.
