Default UNIX snare.

Heres the matching snare to go with my kit.

13x6, Birch.

Oh my....just as beautiful as your kit. Looks so stunning, must sound great, too!
How much was it? To me it seems like Frank has very fair prices...

Good work again!!!

I can't believe there are so few posts about this amazing drum. I have pined for a Unix drum for a while and you've only fueled the fire with this offering.

I can only assume it was by choice, but I find it incredibly appealling and interesting that the light and dark portions of the burst are reversed on the snare from the other kit pieces. A stroke of genious. Remarkable.

Unix has no rival.

That is just amazing! I think Frank must put in a little extra effort for us Canadians, wink wink ;)

This drum has put me over the edge, once I buy my Renowns and get a good solid collection of hardware and cymbals....I'm ordering one of these, no doubt.

What's the thickness?

Is that...7 lugs?

I still think that your kit has impressed me more visually then any other kit I've ever seen. The black hardware blends in with the black burst, making it subtly classy yet dramatic in it's own right when viewed as a whole. Love it.

@ Tenpastten

Hi, thanks but, Francois asked me if he could do what he wanted with the snare, I said yes, so the reversed fade, the proportions, and the tube lugs were his idea.

@ Ironcobra

1/2 inch
8 lugs

@ Ozzy Biz

Thanks.

It has a semi dry woody sound in the center, with gritty press roll sounds (like tearing paper), but still has good sustain medium wat towards the rim and at the rim, but the sustain is not ringny. Its a very... clear sustain sound...

ahh... It's hard to explain. But I like it.

I'm supposed to receive my ride and hats...monday... so I'll post a sound clip next friday.

I can't help but comment again. This snare is probably the most beautiful stave drum I've ever seen. As Ozzy Biz said, it blends together so well, and you have great taste by choosing that Fiberskyn.

If I were you, I would take as many pictures of the drum as possible, so if something were to happen, you can still have something look at late at night.

Deux fois bravo au propriétaire (Étienne) et au créateur (François) de ce magnifique oeuvre d'art.
