Default My drum space this summer.

Thought you guys might be interested... This summer i'm sailing with semester at sea for this voyage around Scandinavia and the mediterranean. Since I'm on a ship all summer i don't get to play on any real drums for quite some time. So this is the practice space I fashioned up. I bought a DW Practice "go anywhere" thing and I brought my 7000 pedal so I don't completely forget what a drum set feels like. I also have an HQ practice pad. I've got some sticks of course including vater manhattans and fusions. I've got my essential metronome and ipod to play with. If anybody has any tips on how to get the most out of practicing please tell me I'd be happy to hear.

That's a tight squeeze, what does your room mate think of it? That's a great investment, I would go crazy trying to live through a summer without drums.

Nice one, should keep your chops in shape. I remember before i got my electronic kit for my room at uni, i was using a practice pad and my bass drum pedal againts a pillow at the bottom of my bed.

Oh yeah i forgot to mention i don't have a roommate. Yeah that probably wouldn't fly with a roomie. When I'm not using it i take it apart and store it under one of the beds.

Nice one.

Of course you're bringing the mandatory copy of 'Stick Control', right?

What are you going to sit on when you play?

So what's the verdict? Does it work for practice? And is it quiet enough? Pretty cool how you found a way to bring the kit to you.

i sit on that table/dresser. Its the only thing high enough to sit on.

As for YEM's question... Yeah i think it works very well. Its about as loud as a normal practice pad. The only thing i dont like about it is you have to tighten bolts on it often because they get loose and the pads slip a little. It gets the job done.

Pretty cool! But you know, Taye has some ultra-compact kits that sound awesome. Or you could have gotten the Yamaha DD-55. But still, great choice.
