Sweeeeet!!!! That pork pie throne is a work of art. And I know that those things are just about as comfy as you could ask. And you could ask for anything more in a snare drum? I couldn't. Sounds like a pretty nice birthday.

I never realised it said on the pork pie percussion logo "Made by an American" .Comes across as condescending/a bit racist.

Not racist, nationalist or anything of that matter. All of their drums and other products (except for little squealer i believe) are handmade in America, ensuring that they're top-quality. And they are. Have you sat in one of those thrones? It's heaven for your butt.

hey guys thanks for the comments, albeit i dont know about the racist stuff lol. Im loving both these additions, but i'm bummed that i missed out on a white yamaha absolute kit on ebay....They were going to be added to the snare. :( But i might have something else in the works. I want to put a g2 on the batter tho, give me a chance to use the nouveaus and ill tell ya what i think or maybe post a video of changing it and of how she sounds. PEACe

not really, technically an american can be someone from any racial background, not just white.

I love the look of the pork pies.

(America is a continent, so it could be made by a Brazilian or an Alaskan.)

I don't know why people are trying to figure out the specifics about the "Made by an American" on the throne. There's no racist statement there and I don't know why you're trying to find one. Pork Pie makes their thrones here in America. Either way, they're incredible drum seats.

i'm not, i was backing up your statement saying that it's no more nationalist than the "made in usa" on the back of my amp, in fact it's better than that because it rules out the possibility that it was made in the USA by illegal immigrants/slave labourers.

Yes... agreed. Sorry, I didn't mean to start anything. How do you like the snare drum?

Geeze i shouldnt have taken a picture of the writing on the throne. It just means that its well made, since generally most companies make their cheap stuff in third world countries. Labour is more expensive here...so if its made here its going to cost more and be of higher quality. IM not even american im Canadian!

Anyyways, the snare is awesome. I want to put a G2 on it this thursday at band practice, and i havent been able to play it with my kit, but just messing around w/ it it sounds pretty sweet. I'll post a video this week sometime!

Nothing wrong with a little National pride. When so much of our goods are imported its nice to know that an American company can compete with overseas labor wages being what they are. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

ok racist was the wrong word. But i said condescendning and a BIT racist. You guys are all saying its hand made in America Yet it says hand Made by "AN American".America is very diverse culturally and has Apparently 7.9 million Illegal immigrants working (probably alot more)not to say pork pie use illegal workers but what really makes you An American? And like someone said before American does'nt nessaceriy mean the good old Us of A so as a marketing lingo they put on all there products i do find it condescending. As alot of countries in the American continent have terrible work standards and poor pay? Should say hand made in the USA or Hand made by a US citizen. I know i'm talking to much about a frivilous (and pork pie seem quite tongue in cheek) thing These companies spend millions on marketing and to say made by an American does'nt seem/sound right to me.

Its the wording of the logo gruntersdad. Was making an observation about what i thought was badly used wording(just like me calling it racist which it clearly is'nt).and i was not accusing Pork pie of anything to do with there workers. So yes they all look Fine to me as well. this argument is stupid wish i had kept my opinions to myself.

Apologies to drummer hd for ruining your thread. Really nice finish on the snare and the throne looks like it would be heaven on your behind.

Very nice sound. The big room made for really cool acoustics in my opinion. The rim shots sounded killer with the die cast hoops, too.

What a shame about the unintentional hijacking of the thread with the whole pork pie thing. It was nice of Cypriss to apologize for the unfortunate veer after his post. Good guys here in the forum. Kudos.

And Happy Birthday!

Looks like someone had a great birthday: great looking snare, and the throne looks awesome! They have got a tama throne which is a lot like that pork pie one at the university i go to and its like sitting on a cloud or something. Wasn't until then that i realised how much a good drum throne can help you relax and be more comfortable at the kit.
