Default My Lucy - Season 1

Well, here it is with vital stats:

12 x 9 Middle Tom
  • Remo Pinstripe batter head
  • Yamaha (Remo made) stock head resonance
14 x 11 Floor Tom
  • Remo Pinstripe batter head
  • Yamaha (Remo made) stock head resonance
22 x 16 Bass
  • Aquarian Super-Kick batter head

Hardware:
  • DW 9000 Base Pedal (belt drive)
  • Yamaha CS 600 & 700 cymbal stands

  • Sabian B8 20" Ride
  • Sabian 16" Pro Sonic Crash
  • Cut down Zildjian A Medium Thin 16" Crash

Now you have seen the pictures and read the stats, here is my plan for the future, hence only season 1. Recently bought this kit as a massive set-up and after the summer (Sept onwards) will be getting more stuff for it (in order of purchase):
  1. Zildjian 16"/17" K Custom Dark Crash
  2. Roc'n'Soc Drum Stool
  3. New heads for all the resonance for the toms

After this, plans to get some more cymbals (being New Signature Dark Energy Crash Mark I 15"/2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hat 15"/some funky 12" hats or HHX Groove Hats 14"/along with a few more crashes) plus a pearl eliminator double pedal and gibraltar avenger for some foot percussion.

Thoughts and comments please, thanks all!

Note: all toms are 6 lugs with 8 lugs on the snare and bass.

Lookin' good! I don't think I could ask for more stats. Really like your paistes. I have but one complaint- among your plans for the future none of them include purchasing a new ride cymbal!!! It's holding you back, man. I think a dark energy ride would look pretty nice on this kit, you know.

Ah, forgot to put that. I have looked at many rides and will not part with any money for a ride cymbal until i hear it and that is the sound i want. Sad i know so in the end, my drum teacher gave me this old B8.

But def will consider the dark energy and thanks for feedback.

Love them, im normally an aquarian man but these are so nice sounding. Before having problems with ringing and i hate using muffling so tried these and lovely.

Also love the 10", favourite drum of the whole kit.

Very nice and clean (guess you mean the paiste ones). Love them to bits and work well with most styles. Crisp and clear, get a good sound out of them. Great bargain for 100.

Going to try and sell the Raker ones and maybe buy another pair of hi-hats to cover the r'n'b/jazz/funk end but not sure what, suggestions?

Niiiice price on thoes dims hats!!! It's always great to get a nice deal on pies. It seems that for a lot of people Dimensions are a well-kept secret. They're great cymbals.

If you do plan to stick with Paiste, they have some great choices for lighter hats. Dark Energy, Traditionals, and the lighter twenty's, too. I don't think you could go wrong, but I love paiste.

Is it a Stage Custom Standard? I like your steel snare.

Are you sure the bass drum is 22"? Doesn't the fusion set come with 20" bass? And AFAIK Stage Custom's bass is 17" deep.

Good setup anyway. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and won't trade it with another intermediate set.

Thanks, do love them and sure that is helped by the great price i got for them. Yer, been looking for other in that line second hand but cant seem to find any around that i can try before buy.

Thanks for the advice on lighter hats but haven't heard too much in the way of good reviews about twenty's and but do want to try out dark energy some time.

Yep, stage custom standard. The steel snare is lovely now its tuned up nicely but do want to get a wooden snare or two down the road as well along with my maple piccolo.

Pretty sure its a 22" cause i thought it would be 20" bass with fusion but did check. Will check again tomorrow and get back to you on that. No, love the kit and won't trade it.
