Default Here's My Kit!

Here's my kit. It's a Tama Superstar, dark red. I have Paiste Signature Sound Edge Hi-Hats, a Sabian Crash, a Zil Bel, a splash, and my favorite..... a 22" K Zildjian Constantinople Ride. All I need now, is a nice throne and I am good to go. I had a tambourine, but I took it to church to use there. :) ps.........'scuse the Fresh Step... >^..^<

Very nice set, Excellent choice of ride cymbal with that Zildjian K, IMHO. Looks very comfortable to play.

Are you sure that's a Superstar? The lack of suspension mounts, die-cast hoops and the odd bass drum hoop suggest Swingstar to me.

Good stuff. You might want to upgrade your B8 crash though.

I agree with you! I would like to test drive it myself.

Yeah, the ride is heaven! Love it and got it for a song. My husband spoils me!
ps: The guitar belongs to my drum teacher. She leaves it here.

I am a zildjian fan anyway, so if you're looking for advice..yes Zildjian is the way to go. An 18" K Dark medium crash would compliment that ride. an 18" A medium thin would sound nice too. best advice though would be to go the Music store, (With your ride) and try a few and see what sounds best to you.

Hey! You're running some great stuff on your kit. Looks like the drums are well taken care of (except for that duct tape... get rid of that!). Replacing that B8 crash will round out your setup nicely seeing as the rest of your cymbals are sweet. I wouldn't recommend any model in particular. Just go to your local store and try out every crash you can. You'll know when you find one that your ears really like.

So, my teacher says I need the duct tape... for what I don't know... so it's on there.. At the time I was a newby.. Any clues as to why she would want that? Will taking it off change the sound?? I am leaning towards ZHT Fast Crash 16"... I love the sound!
:)

The duct tape kills some of the ringing tone and (I admit) can be useful on the factory-installed drumheads. If you get new heads, don't go with the duct tape- it stays on drumheads and doesn't come off, and too much can ruin a head. I use moongels which are small sticky pads you put on the edge of a head to control overtones. Similar to duct tape but cleaner and reusable.

As far as the new crash, like I said before, go with what you like the sound of. If you really do like the sound of that ZHT, go for it.
