5B or Virgil Donati signature; 5B size with short tap and little bit longer, for match or trad grip

very rare to get signature stick in Jakarta, most available from Ahead, like Joey Jordison, Spug and drummer Montley Crue ??? with 17" stick...

I really like Promark 747 rock, wood tip. Right in between a 5a and 5b, just perfect.

I'll take Pro-Mark Carter Beuford's for the block.

Great feel, awesome bead, and versatile as hell.

The vic firth american sound AS5A has become my new favorite stick. I played with a set the other day and they felt great in every department. I like the tips. Nothing special, but they just work for me.

Pro mark 7a (japenese oak) or Elvin Jones signature (basically a longer, slightly heavier 7a) are my 'general' sticks

anything light Ill use regal Jeff Hamilton signature (really thin and light but the wood is really dense...its perfect)

Joe Morello sig is perfect for uptempo/loud jazz- amazing rebound

vater 5a's for rock

vic firth Ted Atkaz for orchestral/concert, or just a regular 2b

regal retractable brushes and pro mark hot rods

I myself am a Vic Firth man, but I occasionally use Vater. I think that every stick company has something good to offer, and that in the end it is just about the feel. I know my brother is a Pro-Mark lunatic and argues with me constantly about why Pro-Marks are the best. Whatever feels good to you is all you need to know. With that said, my favorite stick models are...

Vic Firth Hickory American Classic 5A- My favorite stick. Versatile and comfortable!

Vic Firth Hickory American Classic 5B- Next to the 5As, these are my favorites.

Vic Firth Hickory American Classic 2B- Good for rudiments and slower rock.

Vic Firth Hickory American Classic 55A- Between a 5A and 5B, so naturally I love it!

Vic Firth Peter Erskine Original- Makes my ride sound even better. Amazing for Jazz.

Vater Hickory Los Angeles 5A- All around good and Vaters last forever.

Vater Hickory 5B- Just as good as the Los Angeles 5A

Vater Stewart Copeland Standard- This is my all time favorite signature stick!

Well, I hope this helps. Try all of these sticks out sometime and I'm sure you will love them!

I'm gonna step out of the box a little on this one. Within the last 6 months I've been introduced to Silver Fox drums sticks and they are great! Here's the specs on the model I use

MODEL LENGTH BUTT NECK BEAD TAPER
SF-SD-1 17" .635 . 273 Acorn Long

Luckily one of my local drum stores had these sticks available and they were recommended by one of the drum guys, according to the silver fox website they're the only store in my state that is a dealer, (thank god for non-Guitar Center stores) anyway I use a bigger longer stick but I use the maple version which keeps it fairly light and they have some sort of coating over the stick that keeps it from "chipping" as much. Now they do break like a normal stick but the coating does seem to help them last a little longer. Before finding these stick I used Vic Firth then switched to Vater which I liked a lot. As long as I can readily get these sticks or order them, I'll keep with these! I know most people would probably have to order them so I'm not sure how they're costumer service is hey it's worth a one time try!

I picked up 2 pairs of Regal Tip 5A's after not having used them for years, and I really like their weight and balance. They're the same thickness as my other favorite stick, the Vic Firth 55A. My hands get really dry in the winter (to the point where the skin on my knuckles will crack and bleed), and I've been reaching for the Regals more because of the grippy lacquer they use. They're straight, pitch-paired, well balanced and durable, a very under-rated stick IMO.

Regal Tips aren't as popular as Vic/ Vater/ Promark, but they're every bit as well made. With their exclusive lacquer finish, they offer something different; you're not going to find another stick that feels like the Regals (there used to be a brand called Capella which had a similar finish to the Regals, but I think they're out of business). Some like the finish, others don't. As far as some sticks being weaker than others, EVERY brand is going to have some bad sticks out there. Wood is a natural material, with a lot of variation. Picking out a strong pair of sticks is about looking at the grain and listening to the pitch of the sticks, NOT just what brand they are. I think every brand makes good sticks, but its up to you to inspect and select a solid pair, instead of just grabbing a pair out of the bin and heading for the register. I've also used the Vic X5B in the past, great stick, a little too big for me these days.

I love the light feel of the maple and the somewhat shortness of the stick. It is basically my dream stick.

I am SOLD on Ahead sticks.. Virtually no hand shock.

I like 2Bs for practice and 5A for performance... and generally huge sticks for speed building on pillows and stuffs.

CYMBALS AND HARDWARE FOR SALE

Hey guys! I'm new to this forum.

I have been playing Tama & Sabians for years.

I have just recently been endorsed by Yamaha & Zildjian (much to my sadness of having to leave Tama & Sabian behind. Anyways i have some gear for sale.

I have just sold my Starclassic Bubinga as a shell pack so i have the hardware to sell.

List:
HARDWARE
3 x Roadpro boom stands

1 x Iron cobra 2 leg hihat stand

1 x 4leg 1st Chair with backrest

1 x Iron cobra limited edition, all chrome kick pedal.

This stuff is 6months old!!! NEVER GIGGED and only used for recording.

The first to offer me £450 ovno, gets it!
[/size]

CYMBALS

1 x 22" Artisan Light ride, 6months old, NEVER GIGGED, NEVER RECORDED, rehearsed with a little but no real use. Comes with it's own soft case, engraved 'Artisan' and certificate of authentication. Sold as 'nearly new'. Price £199 This cymbal costs over £300 NEW

1 x 22" AA RAW ride, 6months old, NEVER GIGGED, recorded for 1 track & rehearsed with a little.
This cymbal is raw and dirty. It is unlathed and it absolutely 'sizzles' when played.
Absolutely beautiful! Sold as 'nearly new' Price£160
Again £100 saving on the 'new' price

1 x 21" JoJo Mayer 'fierce' ride. 2months old, NEVER GIGGED, NEVER RECORDED, NEVER EVEN USED.
Again an unlathed cymbal, completely un-marked. Sold as 'Mint' Price £180
Another saving of over £100

1 x 22 HHX Groove ride. 6months old, Brilliant finish. This is the ride i gigged 6 times with and recorded with so it's had SOME use but not much. I've just cleaned it and there's not a mark or scratch on it. It's shiny as new but the logo's have lightened somewhat.
Another beautiful cymbal. Perfect all rounder. No scratches, no stick marks, no corrosion.
Price £150 New £280

1 x 17" HHX Legacy Crash, Traditional finish, The DAVE WECKL crash. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL sounding. I HAVE gigged this cymbal 6 times and recorded with it. But it didn't take hardly any hits and it's cleaned up to NEW CONDITION with all the logo's intact!! No stick marks, no scratches, no corrosion!! MINT!!! Price £120

1 x 18" AA el sabor crash. This is my oldest cymbal. 18 months old. Used well at gigs and recorded with, some minute wear marks, no stick marks, cleaned up lovely, some wear of the logo's but otherwise CLEAN and SHINY. Price £90 ono.

1 x 13" HHX Manhattan Jazz Hats. Sabians answer to the constantinoples. Traditional finish. NEVER GIGGED, RECORDED ONLY. BEAUTIFUL HATS!!! Sound AMAZING recorded. Shame to see 'em go.
I have cleaned the top hat to remove stick marks but the matt lustre of these cymbals has remained. I have my own way of cleaning cymbals. No products, no abrasives. They're still that nice matt finish. NO STICK MARKS, NO SCRATCHES. Sold as Used but nearly new. Well they look just like a pair you'd buy new anyway...!
Price £130
New these are £230

1 x 20" Super Zyn Medium Ride. A lovely cymbal again. Very Very musical and versatile. Gigged recorded and rehearsed with but shines like new since i cleaned it and the logo's REMAIN!!! NO SCRATCHES, NO STICKS MARKS.
Price £70 New it was £130.

Everything i have told you is correct. I spent a LOT of money on these cymbals, Most of which are just 6months old with hardly any use and could still be sold as NEW.
I'm sad to see them go but the offer of endorsement means i have no use for them anymore.

I'm trying here as a first port of call and natrally if there's no interest i shall be e-baying them but i'd rather be doing without the hassle to be honest as i don't use ebay that often (1nce every 2 years MAX!!)

Anyone interested can email me at jamoncahill@hotmail.com or can call me during the day to discuss...07807-069980.

I will deliver these cymbals to anywhere in the uk with a flat delivery fee of £40. £20 if within a 70 mile radius of northampton.

Happy thoughts guys.

Vic Firth Tomas Haake signature are my new favourite. I find their balance and feel somewhat similar to Danny Carey sigs, but they are more durable. Nice and beefy in grip and rimshot area, but with a long taper and a good feeling rebound.
