Default Check out the Pearl!

Check out my Pearl EXR. I've had her for a quite a while, but Prempex (sup dawg?) convinced me to post some specs and pictures.

Here are the specs:

Pearl EXR

10" Rack Tom
12" Rack Tom
13" Rack Tom
14" Rack Tom
16" Rack Tom
22" Bass Drum
22" Bass Drum (Yeah, thats right, I have two!)

On the tom's I use the clear Remo Pinstripes (the ones that look all oily) for the batter, and for the resonant heads I use the stock ones that came with the kit.

For the bass drum I have 2 Emads for the batter sides, and two Emad Resonant skins for the resonant side. Yes, I straight up copied Bobby Jarzombek's bass drum set up (at least his old one anyway, I'm not sure what he uses now).

The only muffling that I use, I use for my bass drum. I put blankets or pillows (can't recall right now) in the kick up against the batter side. Everything else is pretty open.

Cymbals

Lets see if I can remember all of this from the top of my head. I'm going to start on the left lol.

13" Zildjian Scimitars (These were the first cymbals I bought like 10 years ago at Best Buy or something like that, I'm not sure they even make these anymore lol)

8" Zildjian A Custom Splash

12" Wuhan Stack (consists of 12" splash and 12" china stuck together. You know, I've bought 3 Wuhan's already (I'm currently trying to engineer the other one into my kit, thats why you don't see it in the picture) at $15.00 a piece...and these things sound great and have never broken! Highly recommend them to you guys.

18" Zildjian A Custom Fast Crash/Ride
15" Zildjian A Custom Crash
10" Zildjian A Custom Splash
16" Zildjian A Custom Fast Crash
6" Zildjian A Custom Splash
14" Zildjian A Custom Fast Crash
22" Sabian Paragon Ride (Neil Peart signature series! So awesoommmmee)
16" Zildjian Trash China

Other Accessories

2 Iron Cobra Power Glides
Pearl Hi-Hat Stand (The standard stand that came with the kit)
Some other other Pearl Cymbal Stands (that also came with the kit)
Some Gibraltar Cymbal Stands/Arms and what not
& some stands are a combination of many different parts. When you decide to play the drums, not only do you become a drummer, but you become an engineer as well.
I use 5A Promarks (I think hickory, and I prefer the wooden tips)

Oh yeah, I have a Pearl Rock Cowbell. Every drummer needs a cowbell. Just ask Christopher Walken, he'll tell ya.

This was the kit that I used to record some basement demos with some of my friends not to long ago. I posted one of the songs under the "Your Playing" section on this forum, but for those of you who haven't heard it...check it out here:

The skins are very old (I won't tell you guys how old due to fear of being called a blasphemer) so please excuse the boxy/flat bass drum sound. Everything else came out sounding OK. For those who haven't responded on other the thread, let me know what you guys think.

Anything else you guys want to know, just let me know, and I'll try to answer to the best of my ability.

Peace.

Looks great, a little dusty though? What size rings are you using on the EMAD batters?

Mirkko, your set is awesome!

As for the size rings that I use on the e-mads, I guess the thickest ones? The skin came with a thin muffler, and one twice as thick. I use the one thats twice as thick.

The bass drums are the only drums that I muffle on my kit in order to get the huge sound that I get from them. When I jam with people I usually get a lot of these comments: "Your bass drums are the loudest that I've ever heard." And thats exactly what I want! CANNONS
