So how do you like that snare i bet that Masai has a nice deep rice tone and it's a 14x6 so it's deep anyway.
HAve fun

Warlord snare and ZBTs on the same kit. It's up to you but it doesn't make sense to me. What do you think of the snare? Free the drums, get rid of those dampening rings!

No offense, but buying that snare doesn't seem to smart to me.....You could get a snare just as good for about 500 dollars cheaper or more. Also, I would have upgraded my kit first, at least change those cymbals!

Hahah... I can't find any great sounding snare but this so I go for this snare. It's very deep sounding and has great both high and low pitched sound. BTW, i forgot to mention something, the floor tom is from my cheap old Rolling/Axlrose drum in red finish. Plus, this drum is fairly new (just about 10 months old) and so I wouldn't buy a new kit in another at least 4-5 years time but if I have the money, I'll probably do change it ASAP!

Well, as long as it sounds great, congrats! It's a beautiful snare (just overpriced), hope you enjoy it!

Haha... I'm going to upgrade those ZBT cymbals pretty soon... Anyways, why do I need to get rid of those dampening rings? Will it sound better especially when it's well tuned?

I say great for you. One item at a time, is all I can afford too.
Give him a break guys.
The main item in any kit is the snare.
I say well done.

Nice snare. I personally think that the snare is probably the most important piece of a drum kit, so I think you've done well. Now just start building around it. As far as the dampening rings, they have their place, as in when you are practicing by yourself. But, when you are playing with a whole band, those babies got to go.

I love the kit, that blue abalone rocks. and the Tama warlord snare is sweet. Eventually I plan on getting a used one on ebay, but don't tell anyone because I keep a 10" zbt splash in my gig bag and should upgrade it first, I guess. ;)

I've love the look of the Warlord snares. Ronald Bruner Jr. uses one I think with his yellow SC. Any recordings of it?

Tom

Haha... I haven't got any microphones yet but maybe i'll be getting one in about 1 year (since I used my remaining money on this snare) :P. I'll post them if I had a chance to do some recording at school or somewhere else.

For the love of God, get rid of the dampening on the Masai! ;-)
Other than that I like your kit.

I just did! Those ring are still there when I took those picture because I took those pics before I even got a chance to play on them, especially tuning them. :P .Hahah... Thanks for the comment though..
