Default What boom arm will fit a Mapex C550A Cymbal Stand?

Hey guys, i bought a Mapex M Birch kit recently and it came with a boom stand and a cymbal stand. I also bought another boom stand. The straight cymbal stand is causing difficulties in arranging my cymbals the way i want them to be, so i've decided to look for a boom arm to use in the already existing straight cymbal stand. Does anyone know any that will fit the mapex C550A? If so please let me know, or if you have any other suggestions, thanks. Mapex C550A stand has 3 sections, for a boom arm to work with this stand id need a boom arm that has 5/8" in the vertical diameter, and around 10" in length; or id need a boom arm that has 7/8" in the vertical diameter, and around 20" in length. Anyone know of existing stands? Thanks. Also the other boom im using has a counter weight and is huge, so im using it for my ride. Im also wondering whether i should use my straight stand on my ride and the giant weighted boom arm on one of my crashes, or is that ridiculous? Thanks for anyone who reads this :P.

Your hardware sizes, 5/8, 7/8, etc....all standard sizes. Tama, Yamaha, Pearl, Kima, Gibraltar, DW, etc. If you have a Guitar Center/Drum Shop in your area, Most shops have an "orphan hardware box". Good place to start looking.

Thanks for the suggestion. I know 5/8" and 7/8" are standard sizes, but i know most boom arms that come in 7/8" are only 10-14" long (vertical). And i figured it would be hard to find a 5/8" boom arm. Either way ill go store jumping and see what i can find. Thanks. Whats an "orphan hardware box" though? :P. Any other suggestions are gladly appreciated.

"Orphan box" of hardware refers to a box with this stand, that stand, this part-of-a-stand, etc. The misselaneous parts box.

I've got a DW boom on what I think, (my Mapex kit is a long way away) a Mapex stand. Works fine.

Ah, thanks for the posts guys, but for your DW boom, is it attatched to the 1st or 2nd part of the mapex stand? So is it now currently a 3 piece or 2 piece? Thanks.

The stand also holds two upper toms, & an arm for a splash. The DW boom arm is the top, holding the cymbal.

I use it because the Mapex arm was to long & a bonus is the DW has excellent cymbal fit/adjustment.
