It looks like your crack is running along the lathe line. I believe that a crack in that fashion is most likely a sign of factory defect. Most cracks resulting from playing incorrectly travel from the edge to the inside, but this one is along the lathe line. Try contacing Sabian and seeing about a possible replacement, hopefully I'm right and you're in luck.

Why bother? It's only a B8... Chuck it out, and buy another one, or better yet, upgrade to B20 bronze. Trust me, you'll never look back.

Because like most drummers this guy is probably a sentimental pack rat when it comes to drums...

if you can hit it, and it makes noise it can find a musical purpose.

turn it in to a cool effects cymbal, on the school drum kit and my school, there is a 16" zildjian zbt crash with about a 12" crack on one side and about 3" crack on the other, it actually sounds pretty cool. so just keep on smashing it up and it will turn out cool!..........
...........hopefully

My 18"B8 crash cracked and after a few cut-outs i cut it down to 6 1/2 in. and it sounds pretty cool. a kind of splashy/chimey sound. instead of taking up space at the scrapyard it now takes up space as a stacker.

I would advise against cutting it down to a splash. The cymbal will be too thick in the inner 8"-9" or so to sound good as a splash. I'd keep playing it as an effects cymbal until it sounds bad, falls apart, or poses an injury risk (if you hit it again, it might break off and fly back and hit you...we don't want that).

It's ONLY a B8?

Is that the best cymbal info we can get around here?

I mean, you see people with B8's, ZbT's, pst3's, and most people say "get new ones. Those are low quality cymbals"

But for those who can't afford AAX's or K's, or 3oo3's this is the best we can get.

What's wrong with B8's? They sound fine, not the best but definetly not the worste.

Honestly, I see people with those cymbals and floods of people "it's time for some new cymbals pal". Yeah? Well, we all have to start somewhere. Money doesn't grow off trees.

Sorry if I'm being defencive/rude. It's just that everyone here says that. Everyone.

.
very true. sometimes it may be years until we can afford $300 for a non-neccesity expense.

so i have a k hi hat and k custom ride. do they sound good? well yes.
but i began with planet Zs. and guess what? they sound resanobly ok and i am still not hesitant to use them next to my Ks.

wuhans, dream, B8s, ZBTs all make music. they all have their unique sound. everything is worth keeping inspite of the fact that you can afford costlier ( not necessarily better) cymbals.
