Default New photos of my drums

6 ply maple Luddies...They are a reclamation project. The Stainless wrap is new...ish.

I liked the front bass heads for a while , but I think I will order some white ones w/ the Ludwig logo , or do you think black would look better? I only use the kit as a four piece so I am looking for either a 14 or 18 floor tom to recover to match. Then I could leave half in cases ready to gig. I love the look sound and feel of these drums!

Here are my 80's Yamaha's. Theses drums sound really good , but were beat looking from years of gigging and being on the road. I recovered theses as well. I don't really use them much but I don't have the heart to sell them either. i guess they are now party and outdoor gig drums.

They seem tiny to me now after playing the Luddies.

Personally I have never liked clear bass drum heads but that just me. The clear may look better without the huge holes in the center of the head.

I couldn't agree more. The white head on the Yamaha is just gorgeous!

Yeah , new heads it is. Those are not holes in the heads though. They are the large silver dots.
Tom Sawyer , where in Portugal do you live? My wife is from there.

Well... on a stainless finish Ludwig... with those sizes, the whole visual thing just SCREAMS for all clear heads... ha, ha, ha... that looks seriously bad ass in a "Screw you, while Motorhead is blasting on the stereo, Jack D's in hand" kinda way... something I could see Alex Van Halen on... cool.

I think some ebony front bass drum heads would look killer on that set.

Agreed. As a former Ludwig chrome set owner, I know those sets look pimp. At the same time, I have never liked looking at the inside of the drum. It's unfinished, has all this hardware sticking into it and just distracts from the rest of the set. Instead of just a chrome dot in the center of the clear head, why not just get a CHROME drum head? This set looks great and that would certainly match.
