Default update on c.d/ studio

OK, here is the scoop. First off, had the photo shoot for the new c.d. last night, some nice pics to work with, will post when they are ready.

Second, recorded the Gretsch Catalina maples last night for first time. Unbelieveable. Out of the cases and played for virtually the first time I spent less then 5 min tuning them and they had a punch that rivaled kits twice the price, with very warm tonalities. even before adding EQ and mixing the drums they sounded great.

As for the 4X14 copper snare, I'm speechless. It has the attack of a 4" drum but the copper adds a warmth and body of a deeper, wood drum.

I will post soundclips as soon as I get some.

P.S. On 3/28/08 My 5.5X14 Brady snare is slated to arrive, pics to follow.

I have to echo you on the Catalina's. I set some up for a church and had them tuned and sounding great in less than 30 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised. I look forward to some sound clips!!
