Default Beginner double bass pedal

I have been playing drums for around 4 years. I have recently got into double bass drumming and i am hoping to purchase a double bass pedal. I have been looking at the mapex p500tw. here it is http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mapex-P500TW.../dp/B003HGN8Y4

Are these any good? I only have a budget of around $183.63. Should I buy better pedals on ebay? thanks

It'll get the job done and help you learn. I started with a similar double pedal from an off brand, for even less money.

Those will work, you might even find they're lighter and more responsive compared to higher end pedals. I'm in the process of getting a set to replace my Iron Cobra's... way too heavy.

The Pearl Demonator P-932 double pedal isn't a bad set either. Slightly higher at $189 new, but light and responsive and pretty tough!

That is a very specific budget! Honestly though, I'm sure that pedal will work just fine. It gets favorable reviews on Musicians Friend, so I say you go for it.

thanks guys for all the suggestions! I will probably go for the mapex. I am just worried that the base of the slave is too wide and this may make it harder to switch between it and hi hat??

5mm shouldn't throw you off that much.
