Default Clear or Coated Ambassadors?

Would you use clear or coated remo ambassadors for the reso for the toms and snare?

On toms, I use coated Ambassadors on both batter and reso side. Personally, I'm just really, really tired of using and seeing clear heads in general. There are no rules, but when using single-ply heads, it just makes more sense to me to employ the exact same head top and bottom. For example, if I ever decide to go back to clear Ambassador batters, then I'd use clear Ambassadors as resos. (This doesn't apply when using a 2-ply batter, BTW. I definitely wouldn't recommend using a 2-ply reso, ever. But like I said, there are no rules... except maybe "no 2-ply resos", unless that really floats your boat, I guess.)

BTW, they only make clear snare side heads, so don't buy a coated head for that purpose. Snare side heads are specially made very thin. And even though Remo uses the same "Diplomat, Ambassador and Emperor" nomenclature, they aren't the same thickness as batter heads. An Ambassador snare side head will be clear and will be inked "Weatherking Ambassador Snare".

I like white uncoated resonant heads... but why get Ambassador's when you can get Ludwig Weather Master's :P!

Thanks everyone for the responses. That helped clarify things a bit.

How about EMAD vs Powerstroke 3 for the kick drum batter. What's the difference between these two heads? I want something with a lot of punch but not too loud (if that helps)
