Almost always on a famous band like this you can google the band and find the name w/o a problem.

Eh, he's an ok drummer. He doesn't have much going for him except his double-bass skills, but that's a pretty common technique for drummer in his genre.

Check out some of their live recordings on youtube. Seems to be pretty real, though the guitar players dont always keep up with the drummer (but what do you expect from a guitar player? :P)

Dragonforce DO NOT speed up their work digitally! Thats MCs. Dragonforce are THAT good they can do it that fast. You are all just jealous because your band cannot produce such quality music like the work of Herman Li, Sam Totman, Mackintosh, ZP and the rest of the band. Besides how can they speed it up because they do it in concerts and i'm pretty sure that they don't give you weird vision in your eyes that makes everything speed up before you go to the concert! and you see the guitar amps and the mic plugged in!

..thats why weve been saying that they cant play it live...

Also, they dont record it and then speed it up. They acctualy can play, but just not in one shot because its wayyy to hard to get all those affects in one recording. I was looking around on youtube and they show(the asian and the other one)how they playit, and it was up to speed.

I'm jealous? Of that sonic mess? Give me a break. I'm jealous of people who can actually write songs - not people who can masturbate on their instruments.

Yeah Metallica do (did?) it, especially with ...And Justice For All, mainly for Lars; but at least the albums are good. Really good.

All bands do this nowadays though. It's all beat-detectived into mathmatical shape, and the humanity is lost in the process! It makes me sad.

...Which is why I love the new Portishead album. Not a single beat-detective use detected and it's fantastic. Especially considering it's largely an electronic album.

Saw Dave Mackintosh at Drumfest 2007. Bloody dreadful. Doesn't even use the bass drums, they are there for show, uses those Roland bass drum triggers.

Disgusting, its just a pissing contest at the end of the day, nowt to do with music!

please watch this and then try to argue that point:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KG7REsLLZfk

Out of time, wrong chords...i could go on.

i dont even need to argue the point because anyone with a set of ears can see exactly what a shambles they are. at the end of the day, you can work miracles in the studio, but when you are live there is no one to patch up the mistakes.

I think my ears are bleeding.

I'm sure Dragonforce don't take themselves seriously - with a band like that who could? But what irritates me are the fans who do. It's all a big joke! Unfortunately the fans too often miss the punchline. It's really quite sad.

Regardless of the absolutely terrible playing all around, the part that totally boggles my mind is the "super awesome wow they're metal GODS" guitar solo starts at 3:55ish...

...as painful as it is, skip to 3:55 and pay attention to how many times the camera is on the soloist... they actually spend more time with the camera on the singer drinking water than they do showing the soloists...

...'nuff said.

+1.

People are led to believe these guys are amazing, they're not. Dragonforce are a typical example of a vaguely talented band that a record company has picked up to make money out of, because they didn't have a power metal act on their label or something. So they find the best they can find and work on and with them.

If you want to hear some really talented power metal, pick up some Symphony X or see them live. I guarentee they would be worth every penny over Dragonforce, and all their songs don't sound the same or as if they were written for Super Mario.

They aren't as fast live, and they are really sloppy.

That's cool if they are your favourite band, man. But they do. They can't play it live at all and they are always drunk.

Being drunk doesn't help when your trying to pull off music as technically advanced as modern power metal.

If the triggers are attached to the bass drums, he's still playing, believe it or not! Triggers are just proximity sensors attached to the heads that trigger an electronic sample whenever the drums are hit. I am sick of having to reiterate this point again and again, but I thought I'd save the rest of the board the trouble.

You ask for the drummer's name, so you lose at the internet. Fair trade.
