Premier is a great company with lots of history behind them. I have an intermediate level Cabria set. Its too bad they don't supply to North America anymore!

I bought these Premier "Projectors" back in 1992, have used them for many gigs and studio sessions, and they look almost new. They are all birch drums, in a really nice lacquer deep blue finish, and actually have 7 pieces in total. I remember the R.I.M.S. hoops were sort of new when I got them. Definitely a great sounding kit, built to last. I recently acquired a Signia 14x14 floor tom, in the same finish, as an add-on, shown in this photo.

![]() From 1961 I believe. Sounds very decent and have used the snare on a couple of recordings and it sounds great, very nice and dry with a good response and attack. The bass drum sounds very big, despite only being somewhere between a 20" and 22" The Toms have that classic sound and I have all the original Cymbals, Hardware, Cowbell and Pedal. Got given it by a friend for £0.00. Debating on getting it re-wrapped currently as it hasn't aged great. Also, about to remortgage our house so I'm able to afford a whole set of Pre-International Heads as I'd like to use this at a one off gig in the coming months. (Excuse the fancy 'Drum Stool', my main was setup on my main kit) Last edited by Juniper; 08-12-2011 at 04:45 PM. |

Is that kick a different finish than the toms or is that just the lighting? Any hope of just seeing a picture of the snare? Also, has anyone ever told you that you look like a burly Rob Halford? I'm a huge Priest fan so please don't take that as anything but a compliment.

Hi Red
As requested the snare The kit is all in the same finish. No problem with the Rob Halford comparison. I realised long ago I was not built for ballet dancing. Skunk |

That's a beautiful snare. If I had one of those it would have no clear coat left on it because I'd polish it up every week like a brand new Cadillac.

These are my premiers limited edition i think they are xpk series have owned them for about 13 years has anyone out there seen thid finish before? I am looking for a matching snare because they came with a steel snare. These are made out of birch and eucalyptus wood they sound as good as they look. Sorry about the one pic is a bit dark but you get the idea. Its time to clean them up a bit.

Real beaut's those are. Love love blue drums. You need to get yourself a white vinyl Premier logo decal for your front kick head. There is a guy bodo10 on eBay that has most of the different versions.

I uploaded this pic to the 4 piece kits thread, but couldn't help myself...Premier Artist Heritage Club Kit I picked up recently! The last year out of England, before things were shipped off to China. These are my dream sizes and they have such nice tone! I haven't loved a kit so much since the Harvey Mason Gretsch kit I had years ago!

Cool, someone else has 1992 Projectors like mine. I got mine with RIMS hoop mounts for all the toms, which have held up perfectly over the years. The snare is very good too. Love my Premiers.

Hey all you Premier fanatics!!
It's been a while since I last posted so I just thought I would check in & remind everyone again. I am still the ONLY official dealer listed on the Premier Website along with their new Distributor, Hanser Music. My main purpose for the past 10 years has been to keep Premier's US clients in parts, orphan drums, kits & hardware. I am the only one who carries a pretty full line of Signia parts as well as Genista, Gen X etc. If I don't have it, it probably is no longer available anywhere other than sheer luck on Ebay. Hanser is doing a great job of bringing the new lines of kits into the country, now it's time for everyone to buckle down & start buying them. I do have 1 Elite & 1 new style Genista in stock, if you need additional info then please contact me. Of course, if anyone needs parts for their deleted Signias etc feel free to contact me with your needs. Keep up the great work everyone & let everyone see your Premier kit!!! Cheers Peter Dancincrow Drums Monrovia, CA. USA. |

Hey there Premier fanatics and greetings from Oz
Bought my first 4 piece Premier kit in 1967 (blue pearl finish) Bought my second 4 piece Premier kit in 1970 (silver sparkle) I still have the original Premier catalogs!!! Anyhow - loved the sparkle kit - never let me down brought it with me (from UK) to Australia 37 years ago - no I don't still have it - made the mistake of selling it back in 1989. BUT - 2 days ago I picked up a used Premier Genista (Made in England) - 4 piece 10,12,16 toms and 22 bass - plus a Premier Artist Birch snare - sadly the matching Genista snare had been sold off separately but so far I love the Artist birch. Anyhow, I love it !!! It is in great condition and I have replaced the awefull Everplay bottom heads.... WOW!!! Just gotta tidy up the front bass head with a Premier logo etc.... I think a black head will go nicely with this kit. Here' a not so clear pic... ![]() Interesting - all the gear has "P-badges" saying "Premier Percussion Made in England" except the 10" tom which says "Premier Made in England" Pity they don't have serial numbers to identify year of manufacture etc... All the best to you guys & gals Pete ;-) |

Hi there
I may have a matching Torquise Genista Snare drum to match your kit. Email me direct & give me some time to go through my stock. In the mean time, here is a Project I just finished for a great client of mine. A 16" x 16" Signia Bass Drum, which will eventually be Lacquered to match his existing Red Marquis kit. This BD turned out beautiful & sounds like a cannon!! This is one of several Custom Premier drums I have completed, my greatest achievement was an Artist Maple Union Jack Bass Drum which was part of a complete kit which UPS put a Fork Lift spike through & demolished the Bass Drum only. It actually ended up sounding better than the original, which is kinda weird!! :-)) Anyways ..... let's keep Premier going & hopefully get them back on top where they belong. I am still the ONLY dealer listed on their website & carry an almost complete line of deleted series parts for Signia, Genista & Gen X etc. I have been taking care of their US clients for the past 10 years & have a very long repeat client list. |

Here's one of mine. 1982 Premier Resonator in vanilla with black hoop. 2000 Snare plus a 6.5 inch black shadow snare. Full set of original 70's/80's trilok stands and a trilok stool, 252 pedal and paiste 2002s throughout. I also have a bronze/copper RT1 resonator set up that's being refurbed. The stands are assembled from countless old stands that I bought to get a decent set... easy way to bankrupt yourself but a lot of fun..

Hey Johngraham
That is an AWESOME kit. I SO wish I had never sold my old Premier kit - 1969 "101" outfit in silver sparkle with a 2000 snare. Anyhow, as per my post a couple below this, I have just taken my "new" 90's Genista for it's maiden beating - WOW - had forgotten how great Premier was - I ended up overplaying at the gig just to keep hearing the toms!!! And now I am about to get the matching snare thanks to "dancincrow" forum member. Quote:
