Going back to your repsonse before that; it's strange for me because my left hand is still my weakest hand...which is very strange considering it leads what I'm playing in grooves. Having my dominant hand as the snare hand does have it's advantages non-the-less! I found that ghost notes and more intricate use of them relativley easy to learn and it's something that's a feature in my playing. Another stylistic trait it's resulted in is that I can follow varying parts of a song, I might lock in with the bass for a instrumental break then in with what the vocal or guitar melodies during the verses etc (very much like Keith Moon did). Hey Sam - lovely Signia. I see you use DW hardware - that's my favourite set up too - Premier Drums, DW metalwork. Not a Paise man myself, but thats a lovely Cymbal setup you have there too. How are you getting on with the Sigs?

I've had this kit since about February of last year, and the original owner had them in his basement for about 15 years. The only cymbal that he didn't give me with it is the cheap ZBT splash witch is already denting :P Really nice sounding kit, and I am lucky to have it as a first acoustic set after only using my TD-3 for my first year of drumming.

Premier Powerhouse Drum Set, Made in England, purchased 1979, played by professional drummer until 1994. Is a great set, still in excellent condition. Has been kept in climate controlled area. We would be interested in selling it, but do not know where to begin or what value to put on it. Hopefully someone on this site can give some suggestions. Thanks.

Yet another newbie here! You guys are probably tired of these newbies, but again, we all must start somewhere. Not all of us are as gifted, so must work even harder...
I started out at the ripe old age of 50. Typical story; as a child, my parents would NOT ALLOW drums as a musical endeavor...Fast forward...In 2002, I bought a really cheap kit off eBay for $249.95 including the freight! I tried to start "self-teaching", playing along with recorded music. I guess we all know where that takes us. Lost the enthusiasm, so the kit sat in the garage rafters for the next 7 years. Then, I met some people that liked to mess around, and broiught the kit out and started to play along with this other drummer. Another fast forward; kept on at it and started to sound "OK" to me. I had a Hot Tub that I never used, and decided to post it on Craig's List for a trade. Got a nice bite from someone that had this 6-piece Premier kit in Gold Sparkle. Has the medallion that is hard to read, but states: "Maple Model (top); Hand (UK flag) Built (bottom)". Barely used kit with the Paiste Cymbals. If anyone knows anything about this kit/age, etc. I would appreciate the information. The kit sounds awesome too! |

Like the drums a lot, but the hardware that came with it is deplorable. This is a last-year-in-Britain Cabria, with sparkle lacquer. The floor tom sounds awesome, especially for a 14". The 10" is an easy to tune drum with nice character, but the 12" (not shown), predictably, is hard to zero in.

My Walnut Finish XPK. It's good to see the other one pictured on these pages. Birch with eucalyptus. Direct punchy sound. 10"tom, 22"bass, 10x5"XPKpopcorn snare and 14x5.5"Signia snare. I notice RMV heads tune lower than others, which is good for the smaller 14" low tom.

New to the forum, but not to drums. I took a 7 year hiatus from drumming and just recently set the kit up, put new heads on, and purchased a hodgepodge of cymbals. A few of the cymbals like the 502 hihats, 14" Alpha, and the 18" 302 ride were all from the late 90's that I've had.
Here is my Premier APK set from ~1997 in the special edition red satin flame wrap. 22x18 bass 10,12,14 toms ![]()

Hi to all you Premier fanatics out there!!!!
There are some awesome looking kits being shown on this thread now, so keep it going. Just to let you all know, I have just received more Deleted series parts from the UK including, Signia, Genista, Gen X & Artist series. So, if anyone needs anything please contact me directly at dancincrow@earthlink.net. I am still the ONLY official contact with Premier here in the US at this time. If you go to their official site (premier-percussion.com) & search for your local store in the USA drop down you will see only one name. I know that there is still some frustration here with the Distribution situation but hang in there, that will be changing very soon, so hang in there. Cheers for now Dancincrow. |

You mean from Premier? Hopefully. Believe me, I am as anxious as you are as I will be the one selling them :-))
One thing I did want to let everyone know is that I have a small stock of the Very Hard to Find Signia Throw off, brand new direct from Premier. They aren't cheap so be prepared but if you want the best, I have them, I have a total of 12 in all & that was they're complete stock. Cheers for now Dancincrow |
