Default Practice Pads

Can anyone tell me about their take on practice pads? I have had a few different pads and I'm looking for advice on the best one to buy to replace my old one...

Is there anything you find annoying about the pads?

Does anyone know of a good beginner drum set? Oh... also... what are some good introductory jazz drumming cds to play along to?

I bought the P4, Pat Petrillo's Signature Practice Pad. It's got 4 different types of rubber surface, and 3 different levels. It's like a little drum set. I love it, and it's about the same price as a Real Feel.

Here's a clip and a link..

I have last week ordered the Gibraltar legged practice pad. And I have a 8" REMO practice pad too. The remo has the real feel but it isn't quiet enough to practice when wife & kids are asleep.

Here's the Gibraltar I have ordered
