nice gear man, awesome stain job too.
what do you think about having Smooth Emperors on tom batters? im thinking of doing the same thing but still a bit uncertain. what kind of sound do they have compared to, say, coated ambassadors? -NIMBY

Your drums look great - nice job on the re-finishing. Are the bass drum hoops new, or did you just strip the old ones down? They look good together with the red shell. Similar hoops on your toms would round this kit off nicely.

I just switched out the pearl resos with ambassadors and it sounds great. It would depend on tuning but mine are about half a turn past wrinkle and they sound warm and punchy. Ive never tried coated ambassadors on toms but im assuming they would be a bit brighter in tone.

Yes these are the hoops to my old peace kit. I just sanded them off and put them back on these.
