Oh lets see...

I think to save bandwidth I'll just post some favorites.

My own Carbon Fiber shell design

steambent purpleheart...

"Maggy" (Actually maggy went black.. and once you go black... lol) Guess I need an updated photo.

Birdseye maple stave

Basically with the exception of my 1920's Leedy my collection is all "home built." =)

Thanks! That was my Christmas present to myself this year. Still need to take it back apart and finish wetsanding it, etc. Keep telling myself to do that but I get distracted with other projects. Ah well.. it'll get done eventually!

I've done 1 kit.. and I swore I wouldn't do it again... lol (Actually I'm getting ready to build a vintage mahogany keller kit for a good friend of mine)

If you're in the netherlands and looking for a kit you need to talk to Mike at MMC drums. He's in the netherlands and does awesome work. Website: http://www.mmcdrums.nl/ I know for a fact he's getting 2 aluminum shells, a carbon fiber shell, and a couple of mag shells soon. (As in.. as soon as I put'em in the mail lol)

5 x 14 steel (3/8" thick) with die-cast hoops and black and gold fleck powder coat finish. I didn't make this one, my friend and his dad did and gave it to me as a graduation gift.

5 1/2 X 14 10-ply maple with maple hoops. I made this one about five years ago when I built my drumset and retro-fitted it with the maple hoops about two years ago.

Built by CrazyHorse, my McKenzie Steambent Myrtle 6x14. I am actually putting Champagne Drum Tube Lugs (http://champagnedrum.com/lugs.htm) which should be in this week as well as diecast hoops once Tim gets them in.

Actually, it's spelled "Goetz" but close enough and more importantly thank you.

Amazing drum porn on this thread. I can only stand to look for a few minutes before I hyperventilate, then I come back the next day.

...how about some franken snares.

This is my frankrolite.

I posted how I went about putting this together in the drum modification thread.

For these two snares, I swapped the lugs, then added the die cast hoops to the Ludwig.

The natural finished snare in the middle was a home made 14x6.5 8 ply keller monster. I used Slingerland lugs, and a Pearl throw off, then finished it with a hardwood flooring paste wax, and a lot of elbow grease.

The snare on this kit was also home made. It was another 8 ply Keller shell, 14x8, using Premier hardware, and a dark walnut oil stain.

Most of these snares have been ways of using up parts moreso than any attempt at craeting any kind of "art". I am no Unix by any means although I wish that I was.

...I would have replied earlier,

but I had to replace my keyboard. All of the drool shorted the old one out.

Here are some of mine, most of them I showed before here too.
#1 Keller 10ply shell, stainless steel lugs (I made myself)
#2 Stanbridge Cocobolo segmented shell with Cocobolo lugs (lugs made by myself)
#3 Maple 8 ply Keller shell this one I sold, but I made one identical like that for myself.
(I also made the lugs)
#4 New York Times wrapped Piccolo snare Keller shell
( You guessed it, I made the lugs)

I guess I like to make lugs.
