@ MattWalker21:
I love my SC Performer 5.5x14. Probably my best "all-around" snare. Question: what's the pedal on the far left? Another remote hat? |

The pedal on the far left is for auxiliary percussion stuff like a tambourine, cowbell, jam block etc.. |

Cool. I kind of want one for that, but I don't think I will have room if I ever get my Cobra Clutch I want.
Alas! I shall never get down the "El Negro" Hernandez left foot clave. |

Ok, my snare isn't anything high quality or anything but she's lasted 6 years with me... bout to be 7. She's a beautiful steel Rockstar snare. Sadly, she's losing some of her flare. Kinda degenerating actually... :/ so it's time for me to get some $ together to get the Metalworks :D

I own two Tama snares.
This is my 14" x 5 1/2" Starclassic Bubinga snare in a "Scorched Copper Burst" finish with black nickel hardware. ![]() And this is my 14" x 5 1/2" Tama Artwood Custom Maple snare. The finish is "Titanium Burst", also with black hardware. Sorry, I don't have a glamor shot of this one. ![]() Dennis |

audiotech: That first one is downright purty. I love my SC Birch Performer but I'd love to hear a Bubinga and compare & contrast the two shells.

I bought this drum a few years ago & use it with my 58 Gretsch kit - when I want to sound like Charlie Watts (8x14 snare) haha.
Tama Starclassic 8x14 Maple with Abalone inlay........very solid drum - sound wonderful.

What a beautiful drum!
Sorry - I don't have info on it. However, I saw a Camco kit in a local drum store a couple of years ago with finish & a design similar to this....not the same but your drum reminds me of it. I almost bought the Camcos but ........I have too many drums & not enough room. I like em all. There are some gorgeous drums on this thread !

My buddy Dave gave me this. Its a 1980s Superstar 14"x8" in Maple finish. He used it in the early 90's but now he mostly plays guitar....
![]() ![]() ![]() Just fitted it with a new Aquarian Hi-Energy which he recommended to me.... ![]() Unfortunately the wire snares are not the full length original ones. Are these them? http://www.samash.com/webapp/wcs/sto...es-_-TMS20R14S Last edited by Err; 07-26-2011 at 11:21 PM. |

http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/s...ighlight=wires the wires should extend past the bearing edges. It's a serious pain to get replacements, IMO. But I THINK the Pearl Free-Floating snare wires work. I cannot find another thread where I asked the same question some year or so ago. |

I really thought I'd responded to that thread. No wonder I couldn't find it, I was searching MY posts.
Puresound makes Free-Floater wires in their Vintage series, too. |

I've been using the same Imperialstar snare as my main drum for 28 years...beautiful sounding with plenty of crack, volume and sensitivity.
As a bonus, I could dead lift it 10-15 times instead of going to the gym. Just saying. |
