6.5X14 Tama Starclassic quilted maple- without and with flash. I never saw a Starclassic quilted maple in yellow until I found this one on eBay. One look and I knew I had to have it!

Thank you :-). It's one of my three pride and joys...I also have an SJC custom in 14x8 maple acrylic hybrid and a spaun custom 15x5.5. But this baby is by far my favorite production line snare drum that I have ever owned. I would have to say my SJC is the real centerpiece of my collection, but I really love this tama as well...It gets a LOT of studio use, that's for sure.

Not the prettiest or newest but very reliable and versitile is my 1996 HAND HAMMERED POWER METAL BRONZE SNARE 5.5x14.
![]() It was my first quality drum, I had a rock star kit at the time I bought it so it was always the best part of my kit. I have a DW now and still use it for most everything though I dont travel with it much. The strainer isnt what it used to be, anybody know where to get a dunnett or trick retrofit kit for a tama 4 hole strainer? Any help apprieciated |

There is something about Tama snares that is just so appealing. Particularly the Starclassic line. The combination of the stubby, solid-looking lugs, the die-cast hoops and their spectacular quilted and sparkle finishes just tie the drums perfectly together from a design point of view. If they sound half as good as they look they should be amazing drums.

it had the Evans Power Reverse Dot as batter and a single ply Evans snare side. both very useful heads, but I changed the batter to a single ply Aquarian coated (I have Aquarian on all my snares). it's a very sweet snare (especially if tuned low, very nice!), but I am going to change the hoops to die cast hoops. |

Bilkay, I must say that your quilted maple SC snare is probably the most beautiful snare I've ever seen. I'm having difficulty figuring out what hardware it is though, looks like brushed brass something?
It's probably just the light, can you post more pictures of that beautiful lady? |

The quilted maple has gold plated hardware. I'll see if I have any more pics. I have one in yellow, too. That one has chrome hardware.
