Default Resonant skins?

Hey,
I'm in a bit of a pickle.
I don't really get what heads Im meant to put on my resonant side. I'm buying emad's for my bass, and G2 coated for my toms, but I can't find skins which are for the resonant side
are there actual resonant side skins? or are you just meant to use regular skins, I.e G2 clear. So any help would be great, thanks.
Resok.

I'm using clear g1s at the moment and they're great. If you want a shorter sustain and slightly brighter sound, use genera resonants. Want a warmer sound with shorter sustain, try coated g1s. thats the way I hear it anyway. There's a Bob Gatzen video on youtube that's supposed to be pretty good.

There's resonant skins available, such as the Remo Ambassador snare side head. They are very thin heads to provide lots of sensitivity for snare drums. But they are less suitable for providing a very heavy sound, that's why lots of people use batter heads on the resonant side of their toms. They (batter heads) are thicker, which means a lower fundamental pitch.

Ok, thanks guys, so would it be fine to have coated G1's or G2's on my reso sides then?

I'd lean right away from using a 2-ply head (like a G2 or an emperor) as a resonant head. It's just going to be too hard to excite.

clear, ebony or coated is your choice, but stick with the G1/ambassador/classic clear or genera resonant/diplomat heads and you'll be ok. I'm running coated G1s over clear G1s on my toms at the moment.

Stick with a clear 1-ply 10-mil head for reso use--it's as standard as anything can be in the world of drums. If you want less sustain and a brighter tone try a 7-mil head. Definitely avoid 2-ply unless you want to deaden the drums a lot.

I have G2 Coated/G1 Coated on my Gretsch kit and EC2 Clear/G1 Clear on the Mapex kit. These work MUCH MUCH better than the Genera Resonant heads I had before. I had Clear Ambassadors one time on the bottoms and they work just as well. Coated bottom heads work nicely with coated batter heads to warm up the sound (less plastic tone). Evans is making some sort of EQ Resonant side head now, although I'm not sure why you would want it.

G2 coated over Evans Resonant Glass on all toms.
