Unhappy with my cymbal stacker

I bought a Paragon splash and stacker package awhile ago. Two gigs ago, since there was limited cymbal stands at the event (they were supplying the set, but I still needed to bring my own cymbals) one for a crash and one for a ride. I wanted another cymbal, so I brought this stacker pack. I was playing, and it fell over, onto the ride cymbal. The other drummer grabbed it, and held it for the rest of the song. At the end of the song, I tightened it, and played for the rest of the set.

Fast forward to last night, I had another gig, same setup, one ride, one crash. I brought my own stand so I had two crashes. I put the stacker on the ride cymbal again, and made sure it was tight, thinking that was the problem. Same damn thing happened again. I love the cymbal, but I'm never using the stacker again.

were you putting a crash on the stacker if so then the crash mat have been too heavy for the stacker and the stacker topple over.
and if you are continually using this combination and the person at the gig wants to only use a ride and a crash then ask if you can use your own stand and bring it with you.

I was using the splash cymbal that came with the pack.

then i don't see the problem it should work. unless it is at a really high angle like almost sideways or something.

Try changing the stand for the ride?

I've got a stacker that for some reason doesn't fit right on certain stands. Once I found one where it screwed on tightly and stayed put, I didn't have anymore problems.

it seems you screw it to the threads of the stand below, which is going to be MUCH better than using some kind of "screw-press clamp" mechanism which would tear up the threads.

I am doing a serious hardware upgrade in the near future and will be getting 2-3 of these. It would be worth checking out.
