I'm not too sure but others can check me on this if i am wrong. I know aydee plays leftie. I think the bassdrum goes on the left, the floor tom goes on the left, the high tom gets mounted on the right and the med. tom gets. mounted on the left. I think that the hihats go on the right too and the ride would go on the left.
I think im pretty sure im correct. Here is aydee's kit. Quote:

A left hand set is just the mirror image of a right handed set. Just take however you're setting up now and swap it, putting everything on opposite sides.

Look at any picture of a drum kit and set it up as a mirror image, and finetune the positions to your own preferences.

Exactly the same as a right handed kit ...... just flipped over -
think right hand=left hand, right foot=left foot. Instructions( !!!): flip snare with floor tom, move hi-hat to the opposite side, exchange mounted tom positions( 10 to the 12, 12 to the 10), exchange ride and crash cymbal positions, and you're done. leftie setups are particularly good if you keep a x-snare/tom adjacent to your main hat. Open handed stuff can be a lot of fun too. |

I was going to say this. Open handed is an option for lefties too.
