Default PDP FXR Tobacco Fade

Hi. Finally finding the time to post a thread on my drums. I enjoy looking and reading about all the other fantastic drums on this site - great community - great ideas = bad for wallet!

I picked these up three years ago and have "expanded" since then. I will get a "drivers seat" pict once I get the chance to take another picture. These drums just continue to rock me - someday a collectors series "stork" will arrive, but until then, these puppies feel my rage!

Nonetheless, my toolbox:

16x22 virgin bass drum
8x10 tom
9x13 tom
14x16 FT
10" DW piccalo tom
(pictured is matching PDP snare but I've upgraded to DW Knurled Nickle)

Cymbals:

14 Zildjian Quick Beats
16" Sabian AAX Crash
17" sabian AAX Crash
22" Zildjian Rock Ride
14: Wuhan China
6" Zildjian A Splash
8" Zildjian A Splash
10" Sabian Paragon Splash
12" Zildjian A Splash (yeah - i have some "issues" with splash cymbals)

DW7000 Double Pedal
Mix of Hardware

Remo Pinstripes on all tops and Aquarian Super kick on bass.

I'll report back later with new shot with all the bells and whistles...

Drum on!

I Love that set, love the sound, etc. as you may guess I had that exact set before it was ripped off by a "Friend" here in Maine. Sold the set for $500, complete with 4 zildjian A cymbals and a wuhan gong and chimes, He paid me $300 and left state.

BUT, I'm over that and I must say you have a gorgeous set. One of my fave finishes.

I'd really like to see more of your setup, but from that angle it actually looks really comfortable. Beautiful finish, too. Nice jam room. Who do you play with?

Thanks everyone. Appreciate the kind feedback.

Yes - PDP discontinued these a year or so ago (of well). The MXR replaced them I believe (maple vs birch). I love the punch of the birch shells and I can not say anything bad about these. I gig about twice every month and they take a beating (next purchase will be hard cases) but they look and continue to sound beautiful.

Here are some more picts as well. I picked up the DW snare a few months ago and love it! I would love to venture into an Edge but that is still a dream away (like my Collectors Kit that I will have someday)

My guitarist has lots of cool guitars and he's a PRS guy - and the bass is a Peavey 5 string. Just three aging dudes trying to find the fountain of youth :)

You can catch some of our noise here:

enjoy and drum on!

Sorry - 12x9. standard 4 piece shell pack was the core. recently picked up some dw puppy bones - really great to add on your splash/small effects without carrying more to gigs.
